Welcome to Bessie’s Creative Sewing. For over 40 years, we’ve served the Beloit, Wisconsin community from the same location, helping customers find the perfect dress and making sure every garment fits exactly right. What started as a neighborhood sewing and alterations shop has grown into a boutique offering both beautifully made dresses and the tailoring expertise to back them up.

Returns & Alterations Policy
Because these are two different kinds of purchases, they’re handled differently:
- Ready-to-wear dresses purchased online or in-store are eligible for return within 30 days of delivery, in original, unworn condition. See our full Returns & Refunds Policy for details.
- Alterations, custom sewing, and tailoring are done to each customer’s individual measurements and are generally final sale, except in the case of a verified error on our part.
Quality & Accuracy
We do our best to keep product photos, descriptions, and sizing information on our website accurate and up to date. Because alteration and custom sewing work is done by hand, minor variations may occur from project to project.
