This Payment Policy explains how payments are accepted and processed for ready-to-wear purchases and alteration or sewing services booked through Bessie’s Creative Sewing.
1. Accepted Payment Methods
We accept the following payment methods at checkout and for in-store services:
- Credit & Debit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
- Stripe, for secure online card processing
All available payment methods are displayed at checkout. Availability may vary slightly for in-store alteration and service payments.
2. Payment Processing
- Payments are processed securely through Stripe, a trusted third-party payment processor. Bessie’s Creative Sewing does not store full credit or debit card numbers or sensitive payment credentials on our systems.
- All transactions are protected using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption and industry-standard, PCI-compliant security measures.
- Full payment is generally required at the time of order for ready-to-wear items. For alterations, tailoring, and custom sewing services, payment terms (including any deposit) will be communicated at the time of booking.
3. Currency
All prices on our website are listed in U.S. dollars (USD). Payments are charged in USD regardless of the customer’s location or card currency; your bank or card issuer may apply currency conversion fees where applicable.
4. Billing Information
Customers are responsible for providing accurate billing information, including name, billing address, and payment details, at checkout or when booking a service. Orders may be delayed or canceled if payment cannot be verified.
5. Order & Payment Verification
To protect against fraud, we may verify orders before processing. This can include confirming billing details with the card issuer or requesting additional information. Orders that cannot be verified may be delayed, held, or canceled.
6. Declined or Failed Payments
If a payment is declined or fails to process, the order will not be confirmed. Customers will be notified and may retry payment or use an alternative payment method.
7. Refunds
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout, in line with our Returns & Refunds Policy. Refund timing may vary depending on your bank or card issuer.
8. Sales Tax
Applicable sales tax is calculated based on the shipping or billing address and added at checkout in accordance with Wisconsin and applicable U.S. tax requirements.
